The school has always been at the forefront of new events and ideas to offer the students, Cara-Lea is still as enthusiastic for the school now as she was 20 years ago, and with her team and herself with many years’ experience, this gives all our clients the confidence and reassurance they are in the best hands, treating all our dancers as individuals catering for their individual needs and aspirations, whether it’s to become a professional dancer or to simply gain confidence and new friends. We’re the school for you.

Our school takes part in ISTD area medallist competitions, ISTD Grand National Finals Day, ISTD open competition work as well as local, interschool friendly competitions. Most students will start with the local friendly competitions from as young as 3 held at our own studios or Ipswich.  The area and open comps are available to all students who have taken a medallist exam within the school and students can start these from as young as 3 through to adults. These events help students gain a sense of performance, a friendly competitive nature and understanding great team spirit.

The school is a member of both IDTA and ISTD dance society’s, we mainly specialise in ISTD medallist examinations in the different faculties of Street Dance, Rock ‘n’ Roll, Disco Freestyle, Jive, Cha Cha, Rumba, Samba, Pasodoble, Grade work through to professional examinations. As a school we hold examination days around 2/3 times a year, examinations can be taken as young as our pre-school classes (Little Starz).

Graded freestyle work has been part of our school timetable for over 12 years being one of the first schools to develop this work into their schedule, this has proved to be very popular and beneficial to many students giving a greater knowledge of the body’s anatomy, stretches, and being able to develop their own choreographic skills and expression through dance. Alongside our general classes, graded classes are a great compliment to develop your dance skills further.  These classes are very beneficial to both beginners and experienced dancers.

We involve our students in many different displays, fetes and demonstrations throughout the yearly calendar, supporting local schools, organisations and charity events. We were asked to start the Race for Life in 2013 by demonstrating the Cancer Slam at Chantry Park, Ipswich, which was for a great cause and well supported. We have several school fetes booked for the summer months in the local area.

Show work

We regularly hold our own local school show which is a great way to showcase our dancers work and talents to the local area, friends and family. Also as a school this helps us raise funds to enable our students to perform at further afield venues, help with costumes and travel.  These are held at our local theatres and for first time performers is a great stepping stone to bigger things. We like to have our local shows open to all our students within the school.  We’ve also worked with several pantomimes, musicals and variety shows in the Suffolk area.

Over the last 22 years we have performed at a vast number of venues over the country with some memorable performances at many west end venues that we have annually performed at. We were cabaret act over peak season weekend at Pontins Camber Sands.

We are very proud to be one of the first in Suffolk and the first in Stowmarket to be selected to perform at Disneyland Paris a few years ago, this was an incredible experience for our dancers and something we will do again in the future.
